These manuals detail policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and/or principles for programs and services of the department. Also included are planning documents for Title XX and disaster operations. The manuals are updated by replacement pages, pencil changes, and revisions. The manuals cover Adult Services, Assistance Payments, Family and Children's Services, the Work Incentive Program (with the Department of Industrial Relations), Annual Services (Title XX), the Individual and Family Grant Program, Child Support, Food Assistance, a conversion data record for the Supplemental Security Income Program, and Minimum Standards for child placing agencies, foster family homes, child care institutions, day care and night-time homes and centers for children, group homes, and day care homes, centers, and foster homes for adults. Services which are not readily apparent through the titles of manuals consist of old age assistance, aid to dependent children, supplemental security income, aid to Indochinese refugees, emergency welfare services, health services, Medicaid, aid to the blind, aid to the disabled, aid to the physically and mentally handicapped, homemaker services, meals services, transportation services, residential care for alcoholics, residential care for juvenile delinquents, services for the mentally ill, protective services for adults, temporary aid, and others. The manuals represent the various programs administered by the Department, as well as its regulatory and licensing functions.
